Pokemon Champions: Stat Alignment Guide

In Pokemon Champions, one of the first systems you need to understand is Stat Alignment. It replaces the old Nature system, but the core idea is still the same. The difference is how flexible and easy it feels to adjust your Pokemon builds. This guide breaks it down in a simple way, so you know exactly what to do and what to prioritize.

What Is Stat Alignment in Pokemon Champions?

Stat Alignment works just like Natures from older Pokemon games. It boosts one stat and lowers another. For example, you can increase Attack but lose some Defense, or boost Speed while lowering Special Attack.

So instead of being stuck with a bad Nature, you now have control over it. In older games, you needed items like Mints to fix Natures. In Pokemon Champions, that system is gone.

Now you use Victory Points (VP) to change your Stat Alignment.

  • Cost per change: 500 VP

This makes things more flexible, but also more expensive. You cannot just keep switching freely without planning ahead.

Here are some common alignments you will use:

Attack-Focused Alignments

  • Adamant: Boosts Attack, lowers SpAtk
  • Brave: Boosts Attack, lowers Speed

Best for physical attackers like heavy hitters. You trade speed or special damage for raw power.

Special Attack Alignments

  • Modest: Boosts SpAtk, lowers Attack
  • Quiet: Boosts SpAtk, lowers Speed

Perfect for special attackers that do not rely on physical moves.

Defensive Alignments

  • Bold: Boosts Defense, lowers Attack
  • Calm: Boosts SpDef, lowers Attack

Great for tanky Pokémon that need to survive longer in battles.

Speed-Based Alignments

  • Jolly: Boosts Speed, lowers SpAtk
  • Timid: Boosts Speed, lowers Attack

These are strong choices if you want to move first and control the fight.

Neutral Option

  • Serious: No stat changes

This is not ideal for competitive play, but it works if you do not want any downsides.

When Should You Change Stat Alignment?

Even though you can change it anytime, you should not do it blindly.

Here is what actually works best:

  1. Pick your role first - Decide if your Pokémon is a damage dealer, tank, or support.
  2. Match the alignment to the role - For example, do not use Modest on a physical attacker.
  3. Avoid wasting VP early - 500 VP is expensive. It is better to catch or recruit a Pokémon with the right alignment from the start.
  4. Adjust only when needed - Change alignment if your build is already complete and just needs optimization.

Stat Alignment in Pokemon Champions gives you more freedom, but also more responsibility. If you plan your builds properly, you can save VP and create stronger teams faster.

Start by choosing the right role, match it with the correct alignment, and only spend VP when it really matters. Once you get used to it, building your team feels much smoother and more rewarding.
